Automotive Mechanic – U‑Haul

We’re hiring skilled and experienced Engine Specialists (Mechanics) to join our team of vehicle maintenance professionals. Whether you’re just starting out or already have vehicle‑repair experience, U‑Haul offers the opportunity to work on the largest fleet of trucks and trailers in the industry.

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts.
• Overhaul, repair, disassemble, and reassemble engines or motors; replace defective parts and make necessary adjustments using industry equipment such as oxygen‑acetylene, electro‑arc welding, or similar.
• Perform preventive maintenance, maintenance, and repairs of engines, oil, and lubricate engine and chassis components.
• Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems.
• Maintain effective communication and work as part of a team.
• Assist in additional areas as directed by your supervisor.

• Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
• Adherence to all local, state (provincial), and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

The job involves moderate risks requiring safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. Protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required.

Work requires some physical exertion, including long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. (assisted or unassisted).
