Position Summary

The Electrician - Healthcare Division is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in hospitals, medical offices, surgical centers, and other healthcare facilities. This role requires strict adherence to life-safety, infection-control, and regulatory requirements while performing high-quality electrical work in active, patient-occupied environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in healthcare facilities

* Install conduit, wire, raceways, panels, lighting, devices, and equipment

* Pull, terminate, and test conductors in compliance with NEC, NFPA, and healthcare codes

* Work on normal power, emergency power, life-safety, and critical branch systems

* Install and support nurse call, low-voltage, and specialty healthcare systems

* Read and interpret healthcare electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and specifications

* Perform layout for feeders, branch circuits, and device locations

* Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in occupied medical spaces

* Follow hospital safety, PPE, and ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) procedures

* Maintain clean, organized, and sterile-compliant work areas

* Coordinate work with foremen, hospital facilities teams, and other trades

* Support shutdowns, tie-ins, and after-hours work when required

Required Qualifications

* Journeyman Electrician license (where required by jurisdiction)

* 3+ years of commercial or healthcare electrical experience

* Strong knowledge of NEC and healthcare electrical requirements

* Ability to read and interpret healthcare drawings and specifications

* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

* Ability to pass background checks and drug screening (required for healthcare facilities)

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience

* OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certification

* Experience with emergency power, critical branch, and nurse call systems

* Knowledge of NFPA 99, NFPA 70, and NFPA 110

Work Environment

This position requires working inside active healthcare facilities, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and medical offices. Strict compliance with infection-control, safety, and privacy protocols is mandatory. Work may include nights or weekends for shutdowns and critical system tie-ins.
