Responsibilities
- Perform engine Quick Engine Change (QEC) buildup actions, including assembly and teardown.
- Inspecting and repairing ground support equipment (GSE).
- Install and remove Quick Engine Change (QEC) kits on aircraft engines.
- Operate, inspect, and service GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
- Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air; disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components.
- Disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall GSE components and accessories.
- Stencil and mark GSE in accordance with technical publications; store, handle, label equipment and documentation.
- Dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
- Operate, clean, inspect, and service GSE towing vehicles; provide dispatch service for GSE and position equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.
- Practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
- Use repair and test equipment such as welders, torches, pressure testers, and electrical testers as needed.
- Complete required documentation and tagging of QEC items.
- Order QEC parts from COMBS; refer to technical publications to determine specifications to be met.
- Track and record calibration dates to ensure support equipment is up to date; maintain files with calibration certifications.
- Ensure equipment is sent out for calibration when due and that all equipment is accounted for.
- Assign to each piece of equipment and obtain receipts when handing over equipment to the operating command.
- Maintain records for each LD. number.
- Perform maintenance and inspections on GSE according to applicable maintenance manuals, manufacturer specifications, and FAA regulations.
- Research and order materials for repair of support equipment.
- Prepare GSE for storage and transportation.
- Assist with cleaning of warehouses, shops, offices, and restrooms as required.
- Perform clerical and other assigned duties as required.
- Other duties as assigned and abide by all company policies and procedures not otherwise noted above.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to understand scheduling techniques and technical order requirements; troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft engine/support equipment systems; read and interpret detailed technical publications and instructions; communicate effectively, orally and in writing; interact courteously with customers; understand generally accepted accounting principles relevant to the position; understand contractual requirements; use logistics and data information systems. - Education and Experience:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school diploma or equivalent (GED); 36 months in one or more maintenance trades; minimum three years recent aircraft maintenance experience; valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
