Mechanical Start-Up Technician

RQ Construction is a full-service Design‑Build company headquartered in Carlsbad, CA, with secondary support operations in Jacksonville, FL. We manage projects throughout the United States and specialize in fast‑track new commercial construction, primarily for the Department of Defense. We currently have a backlog of work worth $1B in CA, WA, VA, NC, SC, FL, Guantanamo Cuba, and Puerto Rico.

Mechanical Start‑Up Technician – large‑scale government renovations and ground‑up construction projects at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, Georgia.

Pay: $30.00‑45.00/hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform HVAC start‑up and temperature control procedures on mechanical systems.
• Support the commissioning process to verify proper installation and functionality.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to meet project timelines and specifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred; HVAC trade school certificate or equivalent may qualify.
• 4+ years of HVAC field or trade experience, with emphasis on maintenance and service; experience on government, military, or large commercial projects preferred.
• EPA 608 (Universal) required.
• Factory start‑up certifications strongly preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 10 required (can be provided upon hire).
