Overview

Join Academy Bus as a full‑time Diesel Mechanic – Class A in Jacksonville, FL. Earn a $2,500 sign‑on bonus and competitive hourly pay ($28–$35).

• Repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose modern tour buses.
• Perform reconditioning, preventive, and routine maintenance.
• Conduct inspections, road tests, and warranty documentation.
• Diagnose, install, disassemble, and clean components such as brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages.
• Respond to road calls and provide basic welding/fabrication.
• Train and supervise junior mechanics and cleaners.

• 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance experience.
• Proficient with diagnostic devices (DDEC readers, ATEC readers, Smar Tire, schematics, AIC recovery/charging).
• Supervisory experience and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Hands‑on and power tool proficiency, hydraulic jack, welding, and testing equipment.
• Own tools preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL with passenger & air‑brake endorsement a plus.
• Basic computer skills.
