POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTSJoin our dedicated team to provide crucial on-the-ground support in the aftermath of hurricanes. As a Field Laborer, you will play a vital role in recovery efforts, assisting with various physical tasks to help our communities rebuild and restore essential services. This is a physically demanding but highly rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference during critical times.
Duties/Responsibilities- Participate in debris removal and site cleanup operations following hurricane impact.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of supplies and equipment.
- Support the setup and breakdown of temporary shelters and distribution centers.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, digging, and carrying materials.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines diligently to ensure personal and team well-being.
- Work collaboratively with other emergency response personnel and local authorities.
- Be adaptable to changing conditions and assignments based on immediate needs.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in potentially challenging outdoor conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from designated staging areas.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to helping others in times of crisis.
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or similar physical labor roles is a plus.
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift during the week including weekends, holidays, and overnights.
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical RequirementsEmployees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may also be required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
