Diesel & CNG Technician A

A. Work with heavy‑duty and light‑duty trucks, diagnosing and repairing engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body systems, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG platforms. May involve welding and fabrication.
- Sign‑On & Retention Bonus:
Earn up to $7,500 based on skill level (rehires not eligible). - Competitive Pay:
Starting at $34/hour, with potential increases based on experience. - Monthly Tool Allowance:
Receive up to $110 per month based on tenure. - Certification

Advanced knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.
Essential Job Functions- Diagnose a fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles under direction of Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain and repair all aspects of Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, and McNeilus vehicles and equipment.
- Support coworkers in working safely and efficiently with the fleet.
- Complete all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures; maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
- Maintain a high standard of ethics and dependability.
- Provide drive‑train inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
- Provide general engine inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
- Provide transmission inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
- Perform outside repair inspection review.
- Assess structural damage and assign needed repairs.
- Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to all shop technicians.
- CDL Class B preferred or ability to obtain a CDL license.
- Ability to obtain 7 ASE certifications or equivalent within 36 months.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on technical experience in maintenance and repair of medium‑duty class 8 vehicles and equipment, preferably in waste/recycling industry.
- Clear understanding of OSHA safety requirements for vehicle fleets; able to use computers for data tracking, communication, etc. (Dossier, Microsoft Office).
