To be fully engaged in providing security services to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors to UF Health Jacksonville.

Required

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree

• Ability to reason and make decisions independently without direct supervision under a variety of conditions.
• Physical ability to subdue and restrain combative individuals.
• Ability to diffuse and control situations involving combative individuals and threatening situations.
• Take the initiative to reach out and assist visitors, patients and staff to address their needs.
• Maintain a professional appearance while in uniform and personal hygiene.
• Use a professional and considerate tone of voice when assisting patients, staff and visitors.
• Must pass annual physical fitness test.
• Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds from the ground and place on a stretcher.
• Ascend two floors carrying a fire extinguisher in 30 seconds.

• Valid Florida or Georgia Driver License with a clean record, or violations not exceeding maximum points as provided in hospital policy.
• State of Florida Class D Security Officer License and maintain current status.
• International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Basic Level Certification (must be completed within 90 days of employment).

Preferred Licensure/

Certifications:

ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP)

Required Experience: 3-5 years of law enforcement, military, or hospital security experience

Preferred Experience: Experience as military police or military combat unit
