General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations if they help achieve our customer‑service and operational goals.

Functions
  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment, keeping egress clear and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assists customers at the register, answers questions, and greets all customers with eye contact, a smile, and a “hello.”
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to customer service calls and handles all customer issues courteously.
  • Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas).
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the company’s dress code.
  • Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store that is well‑maintained and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedites merchandise receipts to the sales floor with urgency and merchandises items per company best practice and monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understands loss‑prevention and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Follows mark‑out‑of‑stock policies, processes disposals, and reports to leadership.
  • Follows all cash, check, charge‑card, and refund procedures, maintaining accuracy with bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to execute store best practices and minimize workflow steps.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
  • Effectively communicates with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative manner.
  • Performs basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements /Ada
  • Uses all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
  • Spends up to 100 % of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Bends at the waist, squats, kneels, climbs, carries, reaches, and stoops regularly.
