Occupational Health Specialist - Jax

Overview

The Employee Health Specialist is responsible by way of the nursing process for assessing and planning the care and treatment required to meet the needs of the injured/ill employee. Acts as a liaison to customers and coordinates with the third party administrator of self-funded W/C. Assumes ownership of the exposure control plan and immunization programs. Provides education to the customer and does case management.

Demonstrates a service‑oriented approach when dealing with all customers. Participates in performance improvement activities on a continuous basis and the corporate compliance program. Supervises the Employee Health Nurses, EH Associate and other staff as indicated.

• Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Associate’s degree; graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Licensure/
    
    Certifications:
    
    Active license to practice nursing in the state of Florida;
    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Necessary
    
    Skills:
    
    Demonstrated competency in the nursing process and nursing techniques; ability to adapt quickly to change; strong decision-making skills under conditions of ambiguity; proactive approach to professional development and job-related training.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) Certification.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in Occupational Health.
