ResponsibilitiesThe Charge Nurse is a registered nurse who works in coordination with nursing leadership. You are the first line of support for staff, physicians and other providers on clinical issues, and you provide assessment, prioritization and direction of activities to meet the demands of the hospital units. Following the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, you assume accountability for fostering established professional practice and care delivery models through directing, coaching and mentoring the nursing staff.
You will implement unit-specific strategies and colleague-specific practice remediation to achieve clinical quality and patient safety outcomes. This role also collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer on clinical development and acts as the clinical support for the department when nursing leadership is unavailable.

- Graduate of accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in the state; BSN preferred
- Mandatory child and adult abuse certificate required
- Minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitative or acute care setting and/or demonstrates leadership ability
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills in English (additional languages preferred); proficiency in basic computer skills required
- CPR/BCLS certification; ACLS preferred
- CRRN preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
We provide inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for inpatient rehabilitation. North Florida Rehabilitation Hospital was nationally ranked in the top 6% of rehab hospitals for 2017.
