As an RN in the Atlantic/Kernan Freestanding Emergency Room, you are responsible for triaging, assessing and treating patients of all ages presenting for emergency care. You will provide timely, compassionate care for patients with emergency and life‑threatening conditions. We are seeking an experienced ER RN who shares our passion for patient care.

• Document pertinent nursing notes to reflect change in condition, transfer and discharge.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed).
• Maintain efficient throughput, understanding all care zones such as triage, rapid treatment area, carepath, pediatric ER, trauma, behavioral health, etc.
• Coordinate and triage incoming ambulance traffic.
• Manage care with primary ED attending.
• Use the Emergency Severity Index 5‑level triage algorithm.
• Respond to critical needs and serve as a resource nurse for trauma.
• Make care‑based decisions in critical situations.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, procedures and treatments, providing support throughout their stay.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing:
  Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi‑State RN license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
• Current AHA or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• Current AHA or American Red Cross Pediatric Life Support (PALS) preferred and required within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• Previous Emergency Room Registered Nurse experience required.

Shift: Full‑time, MID Shift, 12‑hour shifts (approximately 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM). Rotating holidays and weekends required.
