As an RN, you will coordinate nursing care, provide direct patient care, educate patients/families, and manage transitions of care. You will operate within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of care for assigned patients. Leadership duties include preceptorship, informal and formal roles, quality improvement initiatives, and committee participation. Patient care delegation will consider skill level, experience, acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability.
Excellent communication, mentorship, and teaching skills are essential. Some duties may require driving a personal vehicle. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship upon state licensure and Visa Screen or equivalent certification.
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- For entry‑level associate degree RNs (RN start date April 1 2020 or later) evidence of a baccalaureate degree within five years from the RN start month.
- For entry‑level associate degree RNs (RN start date prior to April 1 2020) evidence of bachelor's completion as stipulated at time of hire.
- One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; team‑oriented; computer skills required; EMR experience preferred.
- Flexible to work days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
- Adaptability, leadership, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Current RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) competency (ACLS if applicable) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Some non‑campus positions may not require current BLS.
- Additional state licensure or specialty certification/training as required.
