Registered Nurse, Pediatric Operating Room Wolfson Children's Hospital

Job Summary

Baptist Health is looking to add a Registered Nurse to its Pediatric Operating Room at the Wolfson Surgery Center. This is a Full-Time Day shift opportunity with a commitment of 40 hours per week. As a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Surgery Center, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. You will check in and receive patient assignments.

A day in the life of this Operating Room Registered Nurse will vary based on scheduled surgeries. You may work with a singular patient in a complex case or with multiple patients having shorter procedures. You will work as a Circulating Nurse, meeting patients in the OR and remaining with them for the duration of their procedure to ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care.

As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you are the patient’s primary advocate and responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period, including verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.

• Responsible for coordination and preparation of assigned room/cases
• Assessment of patients and anticipation of needs of the case
• Perform accurate and complete documentation
• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and sterilization processes
• No call coverage or holiday call
• Must have OR experience or Periop 101 class

Education Required: Associate's Degree - Nursing

Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

• 1-2 years Perioperative Nursing Experience

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
