Provides patient care to the critically ill pediatric population utilizing all aspects of the nursing process. Administers medications per hospital policies and procedures. Demonstrates professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, representatives from other departments and any other customers. Certification Requirements Must maintain certifications as follows:
Basic Life Support upon hire. Within one year of hire of hire into the department, RN must complete and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Certification (TNCC), CPI, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course(PEARS) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), and (STABLE). For nurses with no prior pediatric experience, must take Pediatric Emergency and Advanced Resuscitation and Stabilization (PEARS) within orientation period.
This position is designated as requiring a level II Background (A detailed fingerprint-based screening for positions of trust that check state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal history) and will undergo screening as a condition of employment and continued employment.
