Job Title

Industrial Painter - 2nd shift

Shift

2nd shift nights Monday–Thursday: 4:30 PM – 3:15 AM, Friday: 2:30 PM – 11:15 PM Saturday needed: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Will train for 2 weeks or so on days Mon‑Thurs 6:00am - 4:45pm

Pay

$25+ (based on skills and experience)

Job Description

The Industrial Painter will be responsible for painting the exterior and interior of industrial tanks or pressure vessels. Working in an industrial setting, the painter will be required to wear a respirator. The role involves using an airless spray system, as well as brush and roll techniques, to perform finish work. Painters will handle multiple types of paints, thinners, and chemical‑resistant linings, applying heavy coatings with thick film.

Responsibilities include surface preparation, paint mixing, and reading data sheets to understand key factors.

Responsibilities
  • Paint the exterior and interior of industrial tanks or pressure vessels.
  • Use an airless spray system, brush, and roll techniques for finish work.
  • Work with multiple types of paints, thinners, and chemical‑resistant linings.
  • Apply heavy coatings with thick film, not water‑based paint.
  • Prepare surfaces and mix paints independently.
  • Read and understand data sheets for key information.
  • Work inside tanks and on scaffolding to spray interiors and tops of tanks.
  • Use hand and power tools for final assembly of tanks post‑painting.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of industrial painting and spraying experience.
  • Experience with thick film paint and multiple types of paint chemicals.
  • Knowledge of exterior and interior paints, coatings, and linings.
  • Proficiency in using spray guns, paint booths, and sandblasting equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand data sheets, including pot life, mix ratio, millage requirements, and recoat windows.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Understanding of environmental factors affecting materials.
  • Knowledge of dew point to prevent bubbling and ensure paint adhesion.
  • Familiarity with WFG and DFG.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment to meet millage targets.
  • Experience painting within quality standards for inspection.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
