Job SummaryA Production Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation of straw machine line(s), quality checks, packing and troubleshooting of manufacturing machine(s) that produce plastic straw products.
Essential Job Functions- Perform timely checks to ensure that only quality product is manufactured.
- Maintain established cycle settings on assigned machines to ensure production quantity.
- Stop production in the event inferior product is being produced.
- Perform all assigned quality tests to measure product quality (e.g., straw length, diameter, color and straightness). This requires frequent fingering and handling of the product to inspect for defects.
- Check order to ensure correct product, boxes, and cartons are used for the scheduled job.
- Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures and practices, including performing lock-out/tag-out when required.
- Diagnose and determine cause for machine malfunctions and troubleshoot with the operator on assigned machines.
- Immediately respond to any defective goods.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
- Fill out labor sheets at end of shift noting production and downtime using the company computer.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow directives from leadership, managers and supervisors to sustain productivity and target levels.
- Ensure all company policies and procedures, including manufacturing and safety policies, are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with plant and safety leadership.
- Complete mandated manufacturing and safety training on equipment to maximize output efficiencies in a safe manner.
- Support all current and new product introductions.
Performs other duties as assigned by Win Cup leadership as needed.
Education Requirements- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- One year in a manufacturing environment tending a production machine preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to speak/communicate, read and write English to complete job-specific paperwork

Physical Demands (Manufacturing Plant)- Frequently listen and exchange information.
- Observe and assess information in a fast-paced environment.
- Frequent use of manufacturing equipment and/or machinery.
- Move/transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform bending, twisting and reaching motions.
- May remain stationary for extended periods and/or stand for long shifts (8, 10 or 12 hours).
- May talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.
- Work in an indoor manufacturing environment with potential heat exposure not always air conditioned.
- Work in environments with loud noises and odors and occasional airborne particles.
- Must wear PPE (hairnet, beard net, hearing protection, safety glasses with side guards) at all times.
- Work 8+, 10+, or 12+ hour shifts as designated; weekdays, weekends and overtime as needed.
