Sample Prep Associate (Contract-to-Hire)

Our client, a growing organization within a technical/laboratory environment, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sample Prep Associate for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for preparing samples for testing while ensuring equipment is properly maintained to support efficient laboratory operations. This position offers long‑term potential for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Dry wet samples and prepare materials by stamping, cutting, or processing to required specifications
- Accurately weigh samples and determine eligibility for analysis
- Catalog, label, and track all samples to ensure proper documentation
- Work efficiently to meet daily preparation and workflow deadlines
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on preparation equipment
- Partner with the Team Lead to support optimal workflow and productivity
- Assist other departments or operational areas as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software
- Mechanical or technical vocational training
- Equivalent military technical training

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
