. The position seeks a skilled inspector who ensures compliance with standards for aircraft parts, structures, and systems.

Job Description

The role involves performing visual and dimensional inspections, reading and adhering to instructions and safety information, and documenting inspection results. The inspector will conduct primary and buy‑back inspections, interpret blueprints, research technical data, and maintain accurate records. Work may involve using measuring instruments, tools, and test equipment, and lifting, climbing, and working in various positions while following safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct simple and complex inspection procedures on aircraft parts, structures, and systems in line with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Perform primary and buy-back inspections as assigned.
  • Accurately conduct visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Document inspection items and any discrepancies clearly.
  • Utilize micrometers, gauges, calipers, indicators, and other measuring instruments for skilled inspection.
  • Prepare necessary records such as inspection documentation and logs promptly and legibly.
  • Ensure previously noted and repaired items are properly completed through buy-back inspections.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical data.
  • Research and retrieve technical data as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technical information and inspection techniques.
  • Lift and carry measuring instruments, tools, and equipment; ascend and descend ladders and platforms; work in various positions.
  • Follow safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Read instructions and safety information as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively in English regarding work activities, in accordance with FAA requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English regarding safety-sensitive work activities, per FAA requirements.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate in good standing.
  • Minimum of three years of aircraft maintenance experience on aircraft types consistent with those serviced by Flightstar; knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques, related work techniques, terminology, parts, etc.
  • B737 Gen Fam and/or Airbus 320 Gen Fam experience required.
  • Perform daily transactions within Flightstar’s ERP system (AMROS), vending (POU), and research customer maintenance manuals.
Physical & Work Conditions
  • Lift and carry hand tools, parts, and work materials; ascend/descend ladders and platforms; often work stooping, kneeling, or squatting.
  • Hangar and flight line settings, possibly in weather.
