This position is located in Jacksonville, FL.
We are currently seeking Manufacturing Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing submarine structural, new construction manufacturing work to support the fabrication schedules set forth by the integrated master schedule. Our primary objective is to deliver completed deck structures to our downstream customer.
The successful candidate must be experienced in naval submarine new construction activity. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work in a team environment are essential. Manufacturing Technicians will be expected to interface with EB and our strategic partner supplier personnel as one steel fabrication team.
A Manufacturing Technician is a multi-disciplined person that must have one or more skills within the trades. Steel fabricators, Welders and Fitters will be preferred and considered first. Other Manufacturing Technicians trades- such as Sheet metal workers and Structural Construction workers and may be considered at the employer's discretion.
Candidates must be able to read and interpret blueprints and possess math skills necessary for establishing or determining shiplines relative to positioning components for installation. Candidates shall be willing to learn new skills and apply them as needed with the appropriate training.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to understand, comply with, and actively support site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and continuous Improvement. Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
QualificationsRequired:
- High school Diploma / GED
- 1+ years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and/or manufacturing industry
- Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ship drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task
- Ability to perform trade functions safely and in compliance with procedures and policies
- Ability to operate impact guns and high torque machinery
- Pass a destructive bend weld test, a semi-automatic and mechanized spray and pulse test and meet minimum visual acceptance requirements
- Travel to other shipyards or Strategic Partner Supplier locations in the continental United States may be required. Must be willing to accept extended work assignments if the business need requires
- Must be able to obtain a clear DoD Background Check or Secret Security clearance as required
Preferred:
- 1+ years experience working in an industrial marine or Navy environment
- 2+ years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and/or manufacturing industry
- Experience in manual and/or semi-automatic Welding, Fitting, NDT, and/or QA experience in Maritime Environment
- Shipfitting/metal fabrication experience
- EB AFC (Automated Frame & Cylinder) experience
- Post-High School education and/or training (i.e. Technical School, AS/BS degree in any trade or engineering discipline)
- VT 3.10 (MDD-00948) qualification, or have the ability and knowledge to obtain qualification
- Prior Navy/Military experience
