Program SummaryThe Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the Maintenance Support Team (MST) Manager, this role is responsible for the coordination and supervision of preventative and corrective maintenance on Navy Improved Navy Lighterage System, MPF-Utility Boat, and LCM-8 watercraft for the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP). Responsibilities include preparing and inspecting U.S. Navy small craft and lighter age systems for transport, dry-docking, undocking, fueling, material assessments, material acceptance, and operational sea trials.
The supervisor also manages Marine Diesel Mechanics, Marine Electricians, and Navy Equipment Specialists to provide preventive maintenance, repair, testing, and weight handling equipment operations, and assists the MST Manager and Crane Certifying Official in the U.S. Navy weight handling program.
- Responsible for the safe operation of all U.S. Navy government furnished WHE: lifting equipment, mobile cranes, transport, and other mobile equipment.
- Ensures responsible sections properly maintain all crane and rigging gear records.
- Facilitates NAVFAC P-307 and related training.
- Capable of setting up work tasks of varying complexities from written directions, drawings, and diagrams.
- Exercises independent judgment in determining that employees use proper work methods and safe practices in accordance with NAVFAC P-307.
- Prepares and/or maintains reports and records related to the work assignments.
- Works with other semi-skilled and skilled crafts persons and coordinates with members of other activities to insure quality and timely accomplishment of assigned duties.
- Provides guidance, orientation, and training to newly assigned and lower skilled employees.
- Performs specific tasks in accordance with verbal and/or written instructions and observes safety, fire, health, and work rules.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Operates government computer and utilizes software programs, spreadsheets and databases, fax machine, and other general office equipment.

Work may require standing, walking, climbing ladders, using fall protective devices, accessing enclosed and confined spaces, heavy lifting (up to 50lbs), or prolonged sitting. - Employee must comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.
- Associate's degree and/or coursework toward a BS degree in marine engineering, mechanical engineering or other related discipline.
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
- Eight (8) years of supervisory experience in Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) or watercraft operations and maintenance.
- Experience with Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) and U.S. Navy P-307 Weight Handling Program Management is preferred. The candidate must obtain current qualifications as a Crane Safety, Load Test Director, and Rigging Gear Inspector within six months.
- Must be able to conduct training classes and is competent in rigging gear inspections and certifications.
- Have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Visio is preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
