The Director of Sales – Commercial leads statewide commercial growth by building a high-performing sales team, creating pipeline health, and protecting profitability. This leader leverages Comfort Temp’s current network and expands market presence across Florida while partnering closely with operations to ensure what’s sold is deliverable and profitable.
What You’ll Own- Commercial revenue, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy
- Gross margin discipline (pricing, scope clarity, change-order expectations)
- Sales team performance: hiring, training, coaching, and accountability
- Sales process and CRM discipline (pipeline stages, activity standards, reporting)
- Tight handoffs and ongoing alignment with service/installation/project teams
- Build and execute a statewide commercial sales strategy and operating cadence (weekly pipeline + forecast reviews)
- Drive consistent prospecting, follow-up, and key account growth across markets
- Coach selling skills in the field: discovery, site walks, proposals, negotiations, and closing
- Enforce qualification standards so deals fit capacity, schedule, and margin expectations
- Partner with estimating/ops to price work correctly and protect margin through scope discipline
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop commercial sales talent; shorten ramp-up time with structured training
- Represent Comfort Temp in the commercial market and develop relationships that produce repeat work
- Predictable pipeline coverage and accurate forecasting
- Profitable growth (gross margin dollars and margin %)
- A sales team that ramps fast and performs consistently
- Fewer surprises at turnover; strong customer experience from sale through execution
- Increasing recurring revenue through service and maintenance agreements
- 7+ years of commercial HVAC/mechanical sales, including sales leadership responsibility
- Proven ability to build pipeline, close complex deals, and protect margin
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC operations (labor, scheduling, closeout, change orders)
- Demonstrated success hiring, training, coaching, and holding a team accountable
- CRM discipline;
Service Titan experience preferred - Valid driver’s license; travel across Florida as needed
