Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Facility Maintenance
Job Summary
Perform a variety of maintenance duties for Duval County Public Schools as a Facilities Maintenance Specialist.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance, prevent breakdowns, and minimize downtime.
- Support assembly line operations by monitoring equipment performance and productivity targets.
- Coordinate with various departments to address equipment issues and implement improvements.
- Provide training to production staff on equipment operations and maintenance tasks.
- Update work status, timing, and costs of repairs using company technology systems.
- Maintain fleet maintenance support, including welding, plumbing, electrical, and generator fixes.
- Respond to emergency problems and perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain logs, perform rounds, complete maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections.
- Read, interpret, and transmit detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
- Serve as a member of the facility’s emergency response team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- One year of experience as a maintenance worker/technician in a similar institution or in grounds maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Exposure to high heat, noise, dust, dirt, and areas requiring infection control.
- Must meet daily completion deadlines and be available for all hours, including weekends and nights, as necessary.
Fixed pay rate: $30.00 per hour.
