Janitorial Custodian Worker (Full-time) – Facilities

Location:

Lenox Ave. (Jacksonville, FL)

Pay: $14.00/hr (based on skills and experience)

Hours:

8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Maintain specified common areas of assigned building, to include but not limited to general custodial responsibilities.

• Education:
  
  High School or GED, preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Prior janitorial experience preferred.
• Other:
  Ability to work for periods of time without direct supervision.
• Knowledge:
  Use of tools, equipment and supplies relative to janitorial duties.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform duties requiring bending and lifting.
• Responsible for following safety rules and using appropriate safety equipment.

• Mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
• Waste removal and general cleaning.
• Pulling trash from containers in restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other areas as assigned.
• Assist in set-up and teardown of tables and chairs for pre- and post-facility events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Percent of Time: 90% essential duties, 10% other duties.

• Required:
  
  Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), carrying (up to 50 lbs), kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, turning, repetitive motions.
• Preferred:
  Reading.

• Housekeeping and/or cleaning agents.
• Toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Biohazards (airborne or contact).

• Required:
  
  Respectful customer relationships, maintain records, sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Preferred:
  Team-oriented and collaborative interpersonal relationships, organize and prioritize information.
