Custodial Lead - Cape Canaveral SFS Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience in custodial work.
• Background screening for access to the work areas.
• Pre‑employment drug test.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Prior experience as a lead custodian.
• Experience with custodial floor equipment and performing hard floor and carpet cleaning tasks.
• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Current DoD Secret Clearance.

Perform lead custodial duties at Cape Canaveral SFS. Reports to the site leadership team.

• Oversee the activities of the custodial staff to ensure accomplishment of daily activities when the supervisor is not present.
• Perform housekeeping work according to the specified contracted methods of cleaning.
• Cleaning responsibilities include:
  • Removal/disposal of trash.
  • Cleaning of areas and/or offices including dusting, vacuuming, windows and/or sweeping.
  • Cleaning of restrooms including mopping, disinfecting, cleaning mirrors, partitions, toilets, and sinks.
  • Stock paper and soap supplies.
  • May break down cardboard boxes.
• Ensures quality assurance standards are met by doing visual inspections and making any necessary corrections.
• Provide ongoing training to custodial staff.
• Dispose of any hazardous waste material.
• Answer housekeeping calls and perform other specified housekeeping tasks as requested.
• Maintain supplies and equipment under established procedures.

Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (BAC will cover costs, but job retention is contingent upon obtaining clearance). The following documents may be required to start the clearance:
Social Security card, birth certificate, proof of citizenship.

Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following: repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving up to 40 pounds. These requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodations.

Tasks are regularly performed in both climate‑controlled areas and areas that have no air conditioning or heat, with possible exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
