Position Summary

The Account Executive is responsible for managing and servicing an assigned book of commercial insurance accounts and supporting new business development with a strong focus on client retention. This role involves handling all aspects of account servicing, including audits, policy changes, renewals, invoicing, and proposal preparation, while ensuring the accuracy of insurance documents and data across agency systems. The Account Executive collaborates with producers, Account Managers, and carrier partners to develop strategic coverage solutions, oversee billing and financing strategies, and participate in renewal planning and carrier negotiations.

Additional responsibilities include servicing loss‑sensitive and captive programs, attending client and carrier meetings, mentoring support staff, and maintaining compliance with agency procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively and independently with producer(s) to service an assigned book of accounts as well as any new business with a focus on client retention. This includes day‑to‑day servicing of assigned accounts (ie – processing of audits, audit reconciliations, policy change requests, issuance of certificates of insurance and evidences of property insurance, mod projections, handling of the renewal process from beginning to end, issuing client proposals, invoicing, etc).
  • Oversee the entire process of gathering and managing data for account renewals, coverage rounding, and cross‑selling initiatives.
  • Process renewals according to agency procedures. Participate in renewal meetings with clients, strategy determination, marketing and carrier negotiations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of binders, certificates, policies, audits, endorsements, and related documents, while also generating summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed.
  • Ensure that all policies are checked and are issued as requested at binding.
  • Review policy audits; verify accuracy and facilitate disputes as needed in coordination with Account Manager.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to evaluate client needs and oversee the implementation of appropriate billing and financing strategies, ensuring alignment with agency standards and client expectations.
  • Process incoming mail, e‑mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
  • Appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates all agency management systems accordingly. Ensures the accuracy of data in those systems.
  • Preparation of documents for clients and carrier partners using the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel).
  • Developing an understanding of the clients’ business, strategic priorities, risk strategies and risk management needs to include coverage recommendations and account rounding.
  • Understanding and servicing of loss sensitive and captive programs.
  • Actively develop and cultivate positive relationships with carrier contacts/underwriters.
  • Participation in prospect, client and carrier meetings (virtual and in person) when required.
  • Oversees functions performed by Account Managers and Account Associates as required.
  • Working on new business accounts with or without assistance from marketing staff.
  • Understand and follow agency workflows and procedures.
  • Attends industry related continuing education training and courses.
  • Travels for company business as required.

  • Perform other duties as required to support the team and ensure client satisfaction.
  • May be assigned special projects from time to time.
Desired Education, Skills, and Experience
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products, coverages, and industry regulations.
  • FL 2‑20 Required.
  • Hold or be working on a professional designation such as AAI, CIC, CRIS, CPCU.
  • 3+ years’ experience preferred with mid to large commercial P&C insurance clients.
  • Experience with AMS
    360 and Image Right preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
