Network Service Technician

Our client is currently seeking a qualified Network Service Technician to join their team onsite in Jacksonville, FL and provide end‑user support.

Monday – Friday, day shift
, with flexibility to work scheduled projects after hours as needed. Events should be scheduled ahead of time.

• Maintain the network environment as part of the onsite team, supporting physical touch (Smart Hands) for incidents and requests.

• Provide incident support by collaborating with remote Level 2/3 teams to resolve outages and fix issues, including replacement of cabling or hardware components.

• Offer service‑request support with remote network teams to install hardware or patch cables, enabling new services for customers.

• Participate in hardware rack and stack installation of network and server equipment, cable management, and installation of required fiber and copper patch leads. Provide console access to remote teams for configuration and test connectivity after installation.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive specialty experience in lieu of each year of education.

• Minimum 3+ years of combined experience as a site support technician and/or infrastructure technician.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in racking, stacking, connecting, and basic configuration support of networking or server devices.

• 3+ years of experience working in data centers, labs, or server room environments.

• Data center experience required.

• Proven ability to install cable pathways, conveyances (e.g., ladder, trays, support systems).

• Knowledge of terminology related to installation and service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems.

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read cable matrix blueprints and mechanical/electrical requirement documents.

• Complete physical cable installations and removals, including TOR switches, cable tray systems, equipment movement, network gear, and related infrastructure hardware.

• SCADA experience.

• Structured Network Cabling experience.

• Copper:
  Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, RJ45 connectors.

• Fiber:
  Multimode, Single Mode, ST, SC, LC connectors.

• Wi‑Fi hardware experience.

• Wireless LAN Controllers.

• Wireless Access Points.

• Networking experience.

• IP Addressing, Layer 2 VLAN, etc.

• Experienced in Ethernet Switching hardware.

• Chassis, Supervisor, Line Cards, Power Supplies, etc.

• Transceiver Types – SX, LX, SR, LR, etc.

• Cable Troubleshooting knowledge/experience.

• Fluke Testers:
  Copper – Wire Map, Link Test;
  Fiber – OTDR testing.

• Fluke Aircheck:
  Wireless testing.

The rate for this position is between $28.13 – $41.25 per hour. Pay may vary by geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
