Overview

The SAM Compliance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring software compliance and audit readiness. Using Service Now SAM Pro, this role manages software asset management tooling and compliance processes effectively.

Responsibilities

• License Compliance:
  Review licensing practices to ensure proper usage and compliance for end-user devices, on-premises, and cloud infrastructure.
• Contracts Review:
  Assess software vendor contracts for licensing, usage, and compliance needs.
• Audit Support:
  Prepare reports for internal and vendor audits.
• Operational Improvements:
  Identify opportunities for process automation and improvements.
• Reporting:
  Generate license position reports, dashboards, and summaries.
• SAM Tooling Administration:
  Manage tools like ILMT, License Servers, and Service Now SAMPro configurations.
• Asset Management:
  Maintain a comprehensive software license inventory and manage licenses acquired through various channels.
• License Tracking:
  Develop methods to monitor license usage and compliance.
• Audits:
  Conduct regular compliance assessments and address discrepancies.
• Education:
  
  Train staff on software compliance policies and tools.
• Reporting:
  Maintain live data and metrics dashboards in Service Now.
• Discovery Management:
  Ensure data collection supports the SAM program and manage discovery tools.
• Reporting for Management and Auditors.

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years in Software Asset Management, including license compliance for end-user, infrastructure, and cloud.
• Experience with Service Now SAM Pro and IBM ILMT.
• Strong understanding of licensing from vendors like IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
• Certifications such as CSAM or Service Now SAM Pro preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Tanium, Axonius, JAMf.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Perl.
• Experience with AI automation and LLM integration.
• Knowledge of CMDB and hardware asset management.
