Position OverviewUrban SDK is hiring a Talent Lead (Recruiting & People) to own day‑to‑day recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement while also building the systems, processes, and culture needed to scale. You will personally run searches, source candidates, and close hires—especially for software engineering and sales roles—while increasing leadership scope to introduce lightweight onboarding, employee engagement and HR practices that support growth. This is a highly hands‑on role in a rapidly growing private equity‑backed AI technology company.

Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition and Recruiting (Core Responsibility)
- Own end‑to‑end recruiting for all roles, with a strong focus on software engineering (Frontend, Backend, and Data Science) and sales (SDRs, AEs, and Customer Success).
- Personally source, screen, interview, and close candidates across technical and revenue teams.
- Partner with management and hiring managers to define role requirements, success profiles, and hiring priorities.
- Design and run role‑appropriate interview processes for both engineering and sales hires.
- Deliver a thoughtful, transparent, and high‑touch candidate experience.
People & Talent Foundations
- Build recruiting and onboarding processes that help new hires ramp quickly and feel connected across in‑office and remote employees.
- Implement lightweight performance feedback and management‑defined goal‑setting frameworks.
- Support managers with hiring decisions, candidate calibration, and team development.
- Help shape company employee engagement principles and employer brand.
HR Technology Ownership
- Manage the company’s HR system for recruiting, onboarding, benefits, learning, and performance.
- Configure recruiting automation pipelines, stages, and interview scorecards to support fast, consistent hiring.
- Ensure accurate HR data hygiene, reporting, and compliance within the company's systems.
- Train hiring managers and interviewers on the recruiting process and hiring workflows.
Player‑Coach Mentality
- Balance hands‑on execution with strategic thinking about future hiring needs.
- Act as a trusted partner to founders on talent strategy and org design.
- First Talent hire with increasing leadership scope across Human Resources as the team grows.
- 5+ years of experience recruiting both software engineering and sales roles.
- Proven success as a hands‑on recruiter in startup or high‑growth environments.
- Experience managing or administering an applicant tracking system (e.g., Rippling or similar).
- Comfortable owning the entire recruiting lifecycle—from sourcing to close.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and data‑driven.
- Excited to build on a successful HR platform and evolve the role as the company grows.
