Brief Description

Under the general supervision of the Recruitment and Compensation Manager, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for coordination and support functions of the Talent Acquisition Specialist. The position completes back-end/post-offer tasks and activities for new hires.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for JTA/JTM personnel, including but not limited to reviewing applications/resumes to determine the most qualified applicants for Operator positions and participating in candidate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Initiate background checks, drug screenings and/or physicals for job offers and review results with supervisor and/or team to ensure results are clear prior to starting employment and notify Talent Acquisition Specialists when results are complete.
  • Process contingent offers of employment and rejection notifications to include adverse action letter.
  • Keep management informed of candidate status by updating spreadsheets and monitoring and distributing them as needed.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for new hire orientation.
  • Work with Training and Security Departments to schedule and conduct new employee orientation sessions.
  • Assist Talent Acquisition Specialists with onboarding when necessary.
  • Help identify community outreach recruitment opportunities for JTA with appropriate external resources.
  • Prepare materials and attend career fair outreach opportunities with designated team members.
  • Assist with maintenance of appropriate employment-related information in employee files.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of position descriptions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures that support the continuous improvement efforts and efficiency of the HR department.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Escalate appropriate situations to the manager as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, or related field, from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) year of applicable Human Resources related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of related college level coursework and additional years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of various employment laws and practices, including Fair Labor Standards, Equal Employment Opportunity, and OFCCP.
  • Broad knowledge of the hiring process.
  • Familiarity of Drug and Alcohol and Background Screening referral processes.
  • Familiarity of the New Hire Orientation process.
  • Strong active listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize work assignments.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with employees of all levels within an organization and with external customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced functions in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
    SharePoint administrator experience a plus.
  • High ethical standards and values with ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is an in-office position requiring collaboration with colleagues and interaction with customers. The incumbent may be required to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to respond to emergencies or to meet operational needs.

Physical Demands May Include
  • Keyboard/typing/using a computer mouse, repetitive motion, and sitting for prolonged periods.
