Role Summary

Cinemark Assistant Managers assist in the overall operation of the theatre, ensuring policies and procedures are followed and operational standards achieved. They are cross‑trained in all departments to support where needed, and provide inspirational training to all Employees. Successful Assistant Managers may advance to Senior Assistant Manager, Theatre Manager or General Manager after completing the Management Accreditation Program and working a minimum of six months.

Responsibilities
  • Follow the direction of the General Manager
  • Support General Manager’s decisions in communication with the staff
  • Work in all departments and theatre job functions
  • Train and coach Team Members in their specific job functions
  • Assist in the preparation of administrative and special reports for the General Manager
  • Observe and participate in inspections of the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, Cinemark property, roof and exterior signage, and equipment condition
  • Report the need for building, property, and equipment repairs to General Manager
  • Ensure that theatre Team Members follow the dress code
  • Interact with Guests to improve service and ensure Team Members provide superior Customer service
  • Learn and follow policies and procedures as established in Cinemark’s Guidelines and enforce them fairly and consistently
  • Report all Employee Relations issues to the General Manager (or  when GM absent)
  • Follow Employee Relations Reporting Protocol
  • Maintain a high work‑ethic standard and code of conduct
  • Consistently identify and sanitize high‑contact areas for employees and guests
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment properly while completing position‑specific tasks
  • Adapt to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks
  • Address any safety or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.)
  • Perform other work‑related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School or G.E.D. graduate preferred
  • Completion of three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program
  • Completion of basic food handling training and obtain any local or state mandated certification, health card, or food handler’s permit where required
  • Management members who work with alcohol must complete a Safe Alcohol Service training program
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Requires regular and consistent attendance
  • Energetic and friendly attitude during each shift
  • Excellent Guest service skills
  • Accurate cash handling and basic math skills
  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities; must be able to converse in and comprehend English
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to take and follow direction
  • Responds with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to train and lead others
  • Must be able to resolve conflict
Physical And Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking and reaching around the theatre.
  • Noise level may be moderate to high at times.
  • Work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
