Overview
The Athletic Trainer-Lead is responsible for overseeing the quality of the AT program, engaging Athletic Trainers, and driving program enhancement. The role includes providing athletic training services under the general direction of a physician, traveling to area high schools to deliver on-site services for practices, sporting events, clinic hours, and other assignments as needed.
Responsibilities• Provide athletic training services, focusing on prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, disposition, treatment, or rehabilitation of physically active individuals.
• Travel to high schools within the area to offer on‑site support for practices, sporting events, and clinic hours.
• Engage and support the AT staff to maintain high program standards.
• Contribute to program enhancement initiatives.
• Participate in budgetary planning for the AT program.
- Bachelor’s degree;
Athletic Training degree from an accredited CAATE program (Master’s preferred). - Florida License as Athletic Trainer with BOC certification.
- Emergency Cardiac Care certification (BLS or ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
- 3–5 years of on‑field athletic training experience at the high‑school level or above.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving ability with a systematic and logical approach.
- Commitment to personal and professional development of self and colleagues.
- Ensures a safe environment for student athletes by following established procedures and protocols.
- Stays current on evidence‑based athletic training practices.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Age of patients served:
Adolescents (13–17) and Adults (18–64). - Provides input into the annual budget for the AT program.
