Overview
Responsible for clinical decisions for all perioperative information technology (IT) systems. Functions as an internal consultant, resource person, and instructor to all levels of personnel in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the health system and the Information Technology department. Utilizing evidence based resources, clinical practice guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure standardized, required, and timely documentation. Lead and plan performance improvement and quality improvement initiatives which support the development of educational programs to facilitate research into nursing practices.
Performs outcomes analysis of current programs to determine needed modifications to content to enhance patient outcomes, staff performance, clinical competence and professional development. Facilitates an environment that values and enhances research, knowledge and professional development. Leads and provides support to direct reports, which includes the Laser Safety Nurse, Division Nurse Educators, Perioperative Informatics Nurse, and Clinical Quality Nurse Leaders.

Education:
Master’s degree. Specific coursework:
Nursing, Education, or Health related field - Preferred Education: Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist

Skills:
1. Proven experience setting the strategic direction of competency-based learning in multi-disciplinary health care
2. Ability to produce effective program development, assessment lesson plans and learning objectives.
3. Proven organizational, proactive and independent work methods.
4. Seasoned verbal, written and influence-based communication skills.
5. Proven knowledge and experience integrating and implementing adult teaching principles. - Required Licensure/
Certifications:
Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida; BLS required;
Professional certifications required within one year of hire;
Certification as required for assigned units - Preferred Licensure/
Certifications:
NRP, PALS, BLS/ACLS Instructor preferred per clinical area - Required Experience: 1-2 years Formal or informal teaching experience; 3-5 years Clinical specialty
