Patient Financial Services Coordinator | Patient Access | PRN | Shift

Overview

Reports to the Department Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for completing patient admission and registration processes, along with related financial functions. Serves as a liaison between patients, nurses, physicians, and other departments. Handles walk-in patients and incoming calls regarding patient accounting matters. Requires strong knowledge of admitting, billing, and collection processes, with the ability to independently resolve issues while consistently delivering excellent customer service.

• Required: GED or High School Diploma
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, CHAA certification, and experience in a healthcare/medical insurance environment

• Required: 3–5 years of customer service experience (healthcare environment preferred)

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of insurance requirements (preferred)
• Excellent decision-making skills and initiative
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow
• Ability to perform cashiering functions
• Ability to handle stressful situations professionally
• Proficiency with PCs in a Windows environment; typing speed of at least 25 wpm
