Shift: 12 Hour Bahama Shift 7pm-7am

Sign-on bonus available for full-time certified Paramedics in Florida.

Responsibilities
  • Function as a Paramedic conducting patient care from an ambulance.
  • Supervise EMS field operations in the absence of senior management, ensuring adequate zone coverage and compliance.
  • Serve as liaison with outside responding agencies and personnel and coordinate with other departments (Training, CQI, Payroll, HR, Billing, Communications).
  • Prepare appropriate reports in the absence of senior management (mechanical breakdowns, accident investigations, exposures, daily shift activities).
  • Ensure field employees have the required equipment and adhere to Ameri Pro EMS policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhere to Patient Care Protocols and assist in evaluating employee performance and attendance; maintain professionalism.
  • Monitor deployment and efficiency of the system; make decisions regarding IFT, Mutual Aid, and out-of-town trips in the absence of Senior Management.
  • Manage day-to-day scheduling needs; ensure TEFs are turned into the Operations Supervisor.
  • Deliver and process daily duties (truck cleaning, station duties, check-offs).
  • Act as first contact for investigations (complaints, accidents) and initiate initial investigations; forward to Operations Supervisor for completion.
  • Complete daily shift report detailing activities.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training for new employees and students.
  • Operates within financial and operational plans to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiency; respond to scenes with crews and coordinate transport in Mass Casualty Incidents until relieved by senior management.
  • Attend regular planning meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate ability to safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients in/ahead of ambulances, facilities, residences and other locations.
Qualifications

Paramedic Job Qualifications

REQUIRED Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years EMS field experience preferred.
  • State-specific Paramedic license in good standing / current NREMT certification if required by state.
  • Current CPR certifications: BLS, ACLS, PCC/PALS.
  • Valid state-specific driver's license.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
  • Strong people skills and ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ventilator certification every three years.
  • Successful completion of a written and practical exam.
  • FEMA IS courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Paramedic or in a similar medical role.
  • Additional certification or training in emergency services (AMLS, PHTLS, ATLS).
  • Technology proficiency.
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of EMS on-site emergency medical services methods and protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret local maps; strong multitasking and rapid decision-making skills.
  • Ability to write reports and use computer systems (PCR reporting, email, MDT).
  • Ability to represent Ameri Pro EMS professionally.
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to use hands, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. Frequently required to stand, walk, and lift heavy loads (up to 180 pounds regularly, up to 300 pounds with assistance). Vision requirements include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Working Environment

EMS care environments may include inclement weather, potentially hazardous conditions, psychological stressors, diseases, and other illnesses. Expect interruptions, work pressure, and irregular schedules; some meetings may occur outside regular hours.
