Position Summary

The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinical programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and compliance with all regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements. This role involves program development, staff management, and direct oversight of clinical practices and procedures.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field required.
  • Current licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent in the state of practice.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check.
  • If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable sobriety.
Desired Qualifications
  • 4 years of eating disorder treatment experience preferred.
  • Certification in eating disorder treatment modalities preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Current CPR/AED/Basic First Aid certification.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of programs to ensure they meet the needs of clients, adhere to professional standards, and comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and adjust as necessary to improve client outcomes and program efficiency.
  • Provide clinical supervision, consultation, and support to therapists, counselors, and other clinical staff.
  • Responsible for staff supervision, training, hiring, discipline and termination of staff.
  • Responsible for all duties and responsibilities detailed in the Assistant Clinical Director , Counselor, Discharge Planner, and Therapist job descriptions.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops to ensure staff are well-trained and up to date with the latest clinical practices and standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and program activities according to compliance and accreditation standards.
  • Prepare reports on program statistics, outcomes, and strategic developments for senior management and external agencies as required.
  • Provide leadership and support in crisis situations, ensuring appropriate responses and managing follow-up care.
  • Supervise the schedule of groups and other patient activities to ensure adequate staffing to meet patient needs and assigns therapists and counselors caseloads.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Management Team and Risk Manager/Performance Improvement staff to prepare for audits and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Represent the organization in community and professional settings, enhancing the organization’s profile and building partnerships.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, referral sources, and other stakeholders to promote the program and ensure a continuum of care for clients.
  • Propose and implement innovative practices and techniques to enhance the effectiveness of patient service delivery.
  • Maintains availability for On Call after hours to provide consultation and support staff as needed.

Attend professional workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance clinical skills and maintain licensure.

  • Adhere to ethical standards as outlined by national and state professional boards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA and other relevant laws including 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Other duties as assigned by the facility CEO or employee’s direct/indirect supervisor.
