Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and compassionate Medical Scheduler to join our dedicated pain management team. This critical role involves scheduling procedures, follow-up appointments, and coordinating patient care while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, empathy, and discretion, ensuring patients feel supported throughout their treatment journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments, including interventional pain procedures, consultations, and follow-up visits.
  • Coordinate pre-procedure requirements
    , such as imaging, lab work, or medical clearances.
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding appointment logistics, procedure instructions, and timelines.
  • Maintain an organized and accurate scheduling system using the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth clinical workflow.
  • Handle scheduling changes, cancellations, and rescheduling needs in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Verify insurance authorizations and ensure all necessary documentation is completed prior to scheduled services.
  • Address patient questions or concerns with empathy, professionalism, and clarity

  • Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or medical office certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of medical scheduling experience, ideally in a specialty clinic such as pain management, orthopedics, or neurology.
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR); experience with eClinical

    Works is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with patients in a professional, empathetic, and respectful manner.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance pre-authorization processes is a plus.
