PRN PositionUnder the direction of the Program Director/Manager and Medical Director, the Transport Paramedic is responsible for assessment, triage, treatment and evaluation of patients during transport by ground. They must function autonomously, utilizing medical protocols and advanced skills under the direction of the medical director, providing comprehensive care documented in the patient record. They serve as a resource to other team members, sharing skills and knowledge, and must possess excellent interpersonal skills to provide community outreach and education.
They must work positively in a high‑stress environment with patients, peers, families, and internal/external personnel, ensuring safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum. They are the lead worker on an ALS ambulance, supervising and evaluating assigned drivers, and will assist in the trauma center and emergency department when not actively involved in transport. They operate all hospital owned vehicles IAW all local and state standards.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED - Preferred Education: Associate's degree
- Required Licensure/
Certifications:- Florida Paramedic License
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- ACLS from the American Heart Association
- PALS from the American Heart Association
- Within six months of hire or transfer:
Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Advanced Medical Life Support, FEMA IS 100, FEMA IS 200, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, UF Health Jacksonville DECON training.

Certifications:- National Registry Paramedic
- ACLS Instructor
- PALS Instructor
- PHTLS Emergency Pediatric Care
- Necessary
Skills:- Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment.
- Ability to work in highly stressful situations.
- Customer relations and organization skills are essential.
- Adheres to Hospital Policy, and the Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines in providing patient care.
- Familiar with Advanced Life Support patient care equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pathophysiology related to cardiac, pulmonary, renal and neurological systems.
- Required Experience: Less than 1 year of EMS or healthcare field
- Preferred Experience: Over 2-3 years of field experience in an active 911 Emergency Medical Service
