Summary

About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces:
Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces.

This is a permanent position.

Duties

Help

• Provide administrative assistance with transportation functions of moving recruits from the MEPS.
• Coordinate projected shipping dates and status with Service Liaisons.
• Conduct the pre-enlistment and/or the pre-accession interviews of applicants for enlistment.
• Enter data in Command automated system(s) to record applicant processing information.
• Maintain records of orders, distributes copies of transportation orders and enlistment contracts.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security investigation.
• This position will routinely require you to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.
• This position may require you to perform occasional overnight travel as assigned.
• This position may require you to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work (work before 0600 or after 1800 hours)

Experience Required GS-05: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as:
Briefing personnel on procedures to ensure compliance with regulations;
Obtaining data from others to verify eligibilities for employment and/or to update records;
Utilizing office automation software programs to accomplish task (such as preparing correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, graphs, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-4).
