The Grant Billing Specialist assists the Grant Billing Team Leadin the preparation of various federal, state, and local grants. The Grant Billing Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring that the supporting documentation and the invoices to Changing Homelessness’s (CHI) Grantors are prepared in a timely manner.
Essential duties and responsibilitiesPosition Responsibilities:
Use various Excel spreadsheets to identify backup documentation needed for each billing invoice
Review invoices and supporting documentation for each grantor billing to assist in the creation of grantor invoice packets
Redact documentation per grantor requirements to assist in the creation of grantor invoice packets
Stay up to date on changes in general grant regulations and specific grants by attending seminars and conferences as well as reading material available
Communicate billing and/or compliance issues to the appropriate individual for corrective action
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others
Other duties as assigned

Required:
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office Ability to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to review, classify, prioritize, and analyze problematic situations
Ability to employ innovative problem-solving techniques to accomplish objectives
Physical Demands:
Periods of walking, standing, or sitting in an office or field environment for service provision
Limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
Ability to operate a motor vehicle

Position Requirements :
Educational background can be diverse; however, a degree in a related field or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience preferred
Experience working or volunteering in nonprofit or government settings addressing housing or other social services preferred
Lived experience with homelessness preferred
Veterans and/or experience working with Veterans preferred
Must be eligible to work within the U.S. and provide supporting documentation
Must passa Level IIbackground check
Must pass a federal-level drug screen; possession of a medical marijuana card is currently not acceptable under federal lawMust have aclean 3-year driving history with no points
Must provide proof of auto insurance, have a valid driver’s license, and a registered vehicle without known issues or faults to complete essential job functions
