Responsibilities
  • Lead the credit union’s financial strategy, annual operating and capital budgeting process, and rolling forecasts for income, expenses, capital, and liquidity. Provide forward-looking financial modeling, scenario analysis, and budget-to-actual variance reporting to support strategic decisions.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Accounting and Finance functions, including recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Direct the Asset/Liability Management (ALM) program, including liquidity management, interest rate risk monitoring, and balance sheet optimization. Manage the investment portfolio in accordance with board-approved policy and regulatory guidance, prepare and present ALCO reporting.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, and financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Provide executive oversight of debit and credit card fraud prevention and loss mitigation, including monitoring fraud trends, controls, and vendor performance.
  • Lead financial analytics and business intelligence by developing dashboards, KPIs, and profitability reports to support executive leadership, board, and data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.
  • Provide leadership and development for accounting, finance, analytics, and fraud teams while building a high‑performing, service‑oriented finance organization. Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budget performance to the Board and ALCO, support assigned board committees, oversee key vendor relationships, insurance coverage, and business continuity planning, and serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team.

Required Skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and have a professional appearance and manner.

Education and Experience
  • A minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a credit union or other financial institution.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union products and services preferred. Extensive experience with operations in a financial institution required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant advanced certification is strongly preferred.
