Overview
The Vice President, Finance - Mergers & Acquisitions and Investor Relations is a senior strategic finance leader responsible for overseeing and supporting the Finance portion of Acosta’s enterprise-level M&A strategy while overseeing all aspects of investor communications, modeling and quarterly/annual earnings announcements, and presentations, and financial storytelling. This role is critical to owning external financial narrative development and leading cross-functional initiatives that impact enterprise valuation and strategic positioning.
This leader will oversee the Finance aspects of due diligence and integration execution at the enterprise level, including modeling, underwriting models, synergy analysis, oversight of due diligence, and building strong relationships with investors, analysts, rating agencies, and key financial stakeholders. This position requires superior executive presence, deep financial and strategic acumen, and the ability to represent Acosta externally with credibility and clarity.
- Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the enterprise-wide Finance leader for M&A
- Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, and Executive Leadership Team to evaluate strategic opportunities and guide decision-making.
- Translate complex financial, operational, and market insights into meaningful recommendations for executive and board-level discussions.
- Craft Earnings presentations and financial narrative for investor presentations in collaboration with Executive management and internal/external communications.
- Mergers & Acquisitions Leadership
- Lead cross-functional due diligence across Finance, Accounting, Technology, HR, Legal, and Operations in partnership with Acosta Strategy team.
- Oversee and prepare rigorous financial modeling, synergy identification, business case development, and risk assessments.
- Govern enterprise-level integration strategy, ensuring cross-functional accountability, alignment, and timely execution across all work streams.
- Cultivate strong relationships with external advisors including bankers, valuation firms, attorneys, consultants, and auditors.
- Support strategic life cycle of Acosta Group including future exit planning and financial modeling.
- Investor Relations Leadership
- Serve as the primary owner of Acosta’s investor relations strategy and messaging.
- Develop and execute an annual investor relations plan, including earnings preparation, industry conference participation, and investor communications.
- Craft clear, compelling, and transparent investor-facing materials and financial narratives, including earnings commentary, investor decks, Q&A guidance, and strategic positioning.
- Prepare executive leadership for investor and analyst meetings, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging.
- Manage relationships with private equity owner stakeholders, current and potential investors (lenders and potential equity stakeholders), analysts, and ratings agencies.
- Monitor and report on market trends, competitor financial performance, and investor sentiment.
- Executive Communication & Influence
- Provide highly polished, executive-level communication deliverables for internal and external audiences.
- Represent the organization in high-stakes discussions and external meetings with professionalism and authority.
- Synthesize complex data sets into simple, persuasive insights tailored to executive and investor audiences.
- Operational Excellence & Governance
- Establish repeatable M&A processes, templates, integration frameworks, and governance routines to scale the Corporate Development function.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Oversee financial and operational tracking related to closing balance sheets, working capital adjustments, earnouts, escrow balances, and integration KPIs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline required.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance preferred.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive Finance, Corporate Development, M&A, or related experience.
