Assistant Controller

Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This position is a contract-to-permanent opportunity within the non-profit industry, offering the chance to contribute to meaningful financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in accounting and financial management, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the month-end close process, including preparing accurate and timely financial statements.

- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper reconciliation and documentation.

- Lead financial statement audits and ensure compliance with DCAA regulations.

- Prepare and analyze detailed financial reports to support organizational decision-making.

- Implement and monitor fund accounting practices tailored to non-profit operations.

- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial processes and reporting.

- Provide guidance and support for budgeting and forecasting activities.

- Identify areas for improvement in financial operations and recommend solutions. Requirements - A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

- Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger oversight.

- Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and DCAA compliance.

- Experience in financial reporting and fund accounting within the non-profit sector.

- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations applicable to non-profit organizations.

- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
