Equipment Finance Tax Specialist

Overview

This position assists in preparing tax materials and performs tax accounting duties in support of the Equipment Financing function of the Bank. Prepares tax materials, assists in audits and responds to tax correspondence.

• Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets financial data. Analyzes data for the evaluation and preparation of taxes, effectively communicates analysis output.
• Risk Assessment - Reviewing and approving documentation to determine if exemptions are valid based on customer, contract, and equipment type by state.
• Documentation - Assists in the preparation and distribution of federal and state tax documents including filings and returns. Prepares quarterly and annual tax compliance.
• Compliance - Maintains a strong knowledge of existing or revised tax codes, laws, and forms in order to properly prepare tax documents for the Bank. Ensures that tax returns are filed in accordance with tax authorities.
• Business Support - Researches tax laws. Assists in state and local tax audits. Compiles information and explains options for best practice. Calculates and communicates federal and state estimated payments to the appropriate parties. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and tax laws.

• Bachelor's Degree
• OR
• High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in Tax analysis

• Intermediate Excel skills

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills

• Tax/Indirect tax experience including but not limited to understanding of tax returns
• Banking/Finance industry experience
• Equipment Finance industry experience
