Senior Credit Analyst - Commercial Banking (Assistant Vice President)
Citi’s Commercial Bank (CCB) for the North American (NAM) region is a rapidly growing business targeting emerging, mid- and larger-sized companies based in the United States or Canada. As a Credit Analyst, you will support clients with $1 million and less of credit exposure and drive future career growth opportunities.
As the CLM Assistant Vice President you will facilitate the end‑to‑end lending process for a covered industry vertical, partnering closely with Relationship Managers, Independent Risk and Credit Officers to provide solutions across working capital, term loans, treasury and liquidity, foreign exchange, trade finance and interest rate derivatives. You will be responsible for credit underwriting, due diligence, structuring and documentation, and portfolio monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate the end‑to‑end lending process within the NAM CCB for assigned relationships and portfolio.
- Rapidly develop knowledge of assigned portfolio and related industries, creating well‑supported analysis that balances risk and business objectives.
- Ensure appropriate regulatory classification and minimize net credit losses for the covered portfolio, escalating emerging concerns as needed.
- Produce underlying analysis and workflow supporting underwriting requests, including pre‑screenings, amendments, extensions and annual reviews.
- Prepare timely monthly and/or quarterly financial memo reviews of existing borrowers to track compliance with loan covenants, raising concerns and taking action in partnership with stakeholders.
- Facilitate loan documentation for new transactions and amendments, coordinating with internal partners and/or outside legal counsel to ensure credit terms are properly represented.
- Attend periodic meetings regarding covered portfolio clients and select new‑to‑bank opportunities in partnership with the Relationship Management teams.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of the various credit products and services offered to CCB clients.
- Mentor and develop junior staff and support staff to become effective contributors.
- Recommend and champion changes to improve existing processes for greater efficiency and controls.
- Work proactively and diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders to keep transactions moving forward within appropriate controls.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in credit underwriting, portfolio and/or risk management in a multinational financial services organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting and financial concepts and their practical application in the credit underwriting process.
- Excellent communication, written, verbal, presentation and listening skills, and strong organizational abilities.
- Learning agility, seeking resources and experience to continually build knowledge and applying learning to new situations.
- Highly proficient in spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications, including strong data visualization skills.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.

Salary Range: $87,280.00 – $ (full‑time).
