About

the Role

Otto Aerospace is seeking a dynamic engineer to join our Aircraft Integration Team. The ideal candidate will have a background in aerospace Systems Engineer with familiarity of systems typically found on Part 23 and Part 25 aircraft including landing gear, fuel system, flight controls, avionics, environmental controls, etc. You will be joining a team developing the world’s most efficient aircraft. Otto Aerospace is seeking first‑principles engineers that work great in a team atmosphere and know how to get things done.

What

You'll Do
  • Define aircraft and system requirements in line with Otto’s mission objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in validation and verification planning with system owners to ensure successful traceability to the aircraft level requirements
  • Document and maintain certification requirements necessary for entry‑into‑service
  • Help maintain a database of aircraft level requirements for design teams to reference
  • Work with different teams to resolve cross‑functional design issues
  • Define and show compliance for aircraft systems to 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 regulatory certification requirements
  • Work with pilots to develop requirements for operations and flight quality
  • Work with maintenance and operation experts on meeting reliability and maintainability targets
Education
  • B.S., in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience
  • 3‑5 years of Systems Engineering experience, preferably in aerospace
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical systems common in modern Part 23 / Part 25 business aircraft
  • Experience with aerospace requirements management software like JAMA, DOORS, Magic, or similar
  • Knowledge of FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements
  • Understanding and experience with RTCA DO‑160G, DO‑254, DO‑178, SAE ARP
    4754A and ARP
    4761
  • Knowledge of industry standards and hands‑on experience
  • Overall knowledge of mechanical systems, propulsion, and structures and key interfaces to aircraft system
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to closely coordinate with manufacturing to support MRB activities

Where You'll Be

** This role will initially be remote with 25% travel to our temporary facility at Meacham Airport in Fort Worth, TX. In mid to late 2026, or once our new headquarters in Jacksonville, FL is ready for occupancy, the role will transition to onsite at that location.
