Your Role:
This position provides technical engineering support on environmental characterization and remediation projects for federal, municipal, commercial and industrial clients. This individual will participate in scoping, planning and execution of large, complex environmental investigation and remediation programs under CERCLA, RCRA and other regulatory programs for Federal, State, and private clients. Additionally, the candidate will actively support our technical group in evaluating innovative PFAS remediation technologies.

The current position has the opportunity to work closely with one or more of our PhD level engineers designing and testing new environmental remediation treatment systems.
Responsibilities- Provide field, technical and report preparation support for CERCLA and RCRA investigations and remediation projects to include:
- Planning and implementation of programs for multi-media environmental sampling and remediation operations.
- Preparation of complex documents, which include Work Plans, HASPs, SAPs, QAPPs, remedial designs, reports, etc.
- Development of design documents, calculations and workflow for investigation and remediation of hazardous waste sites.
- Development of technical specifications, scopes and cost estimates to support procurement of subcontractors including environmental cleanup contractors, remediation system erection contractors, drilling contractors, analytical laboratories, etc.
- Evaluation of bids and pricing.
- Oversee and evaluate subcontractors working on site during field operations to ensure work is carried out safely in accordance with contract specifications.
- Tabulate and assimilate field data collected into coherent products for transmittal to data management staff for upload into centralized databases.
- Other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Mandatory Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years directly related professional experience in environmental consulting or closely related work.
- OSHA 40-Hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training and being current on refreshers.
- Capable of performing fieldwork, which at times can be extensive.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills; advanced skills desirable.
- Must have a good driving record and a valid Driver’s License.
- Desired experience, knowledge, and skills:
- Professional engineer licensure or a path to achieve licensure within 3 years.
- Experience working on Department of Defense projects.
- Knowledge of specialized computer software needed for data evaluation and remediation design.
- Experience with equipment (i.e., pumps, flowmeters, sensors, etc.) selection and sizing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
