Telecom​/Network Engineer

Overview

IDR is seeking a Telecom/Network Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves supporting the physical and network infrastructure within a healthcare environment, focusing on switch replacement and troubleshooting to ensure seamless connectivity and security. The company operates within the telecommunications and networking industry and values technical expertise.

• Manage and execute physical access layer switch replacement and troubleshoot related issues.
• Configure and install Cisco access layer switch stacks.
• Support networking projects ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Work in a fast-paced environment requiring technical problem-solving skills.
• Collaborate with a team to maintain and improve network stability.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of professional technical work experience, or an associate’s degree with at least four (4) years of experience, or a minimum of six (6) years of professional technical experience without a degree.
• Expert knowledge of telecom and network concepts, including the 7-layer OSI model.
• Experience with Cisco switches, especially C9300 series, preferred.
• Prior experience working in a healthcare environment is a plus.
• Ability to work evenings and possibly into early mornings after onboarding.
