Job 2568 Senior level Controls Engineer - Contract located in Northern, Florida

About The Role
This role will be focused on increasing the capacity of an existing catheter production line. This is for a market leading device and you will have a strong opportunity for future growth. You will have the opportunity to drive innovative technology solutions from concept to commercialization.
You will be partnering cross-functionally with a technically strong, experienced and highly engaged team.
Key Responsibilities- System Design and Development:
Create, develop, and implement control systems for automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems. - Troubleshooting and Optimization:
Identify and resolve issues, downtime, and quality problems in automated machinery, optimizing performance for safety and efficiency. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all automation and control systems comply with FDA regulations, ISO standards, and GMP requirements specific to medical devices. - Documentation and Validation:
Develop and maintain technical documentation for control systems, support equipment validation activities, and ensure change control processes are followed. - Process Improvement:
Implement new technologies, conduct root cause analysis for failures, and lead initiatives to enhance the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes. - Commissioning and Support:
Support the commissioning and upgrades of manufacturing equipment, providing technical support and training to maintenance teams.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Controls Engineer or in a similar automation-focused engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. - Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley Control Logix, Siemens), HMI development, motion control, and robotics. - Automation Knowledge:
Experience with industrial controls, sensors, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), safety hardware, and various automation technologies. - Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues. - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document technical information. - Regulatory Awareness:
Understanding of the strict regulatory environment for medical device manufacturing, including FDA and GMP requirements.
- Experience working with high-speed manufacturing or high-throughput production lines.
