Senior Design Manager - Multi-disciplinary Projects
Arcadis, a leading provider of sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions, invites applications for the Senior Design Manager – Multi-disciplinary Projects role within our Design Management team, North America Places Group.
Role description: The position is hybrid and can be based anywhere in the USA with 25% domestic travel. You will spearhead multi‑disciplinary design‑engineered solutions on a variety of future projects such as intermodal terminals, data centres, commercial, retail, residential, defence, social infrastructure, automotive, industrial manufacturing, rail, urban development tech, aerospace & aviation.
Role accountabilities:
- Coordinating with internal and external architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress.
- Spearheading strategic pursuits, creating winning delivery strategies, and developing fee projections to achieve financial targets.
- Managing financial and project management controls to monitor, modify, and forecast project performance.
- Optimizing resource acquisition, deployment, and utilization for the project.
- Driving timely service delivery, including technical and commercial outcomes, and conducting reviews to exceed client expectations.
- Implementing design delivery best practices, including risk and change management, project set‑up, and planning using internal and external digital technologies.
- Developing project plans of execution for a variety of design and engineering service deliveries based on specified scopes.
- Delivering client presentations, preparing written reports, and communicating technical concepts related to scoping, requirements, and risk.
Qualifications &
Experience:
- 10+ years of relevant experience leading large multi‑disciplinary design‑engineered solutions and construction projects.
- Proven financial background related to projects and client management.
- Experience with Autodesk Platforms:
Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or Building Information Modelling (BIM). - Certified Project Management (CPM) certification within 30 days of hire (training provided).
- BA in Architecture or Engineering‑related field focused on the built environment.
- Preferred certifications: PE, RA, PMP.
- Practical sustainability experience; unique mechanical systems considered a plus.
- Experience implementing transformative solutions in urban environments.
Salary range for this position is $94,944 – $161,405, depending on experience, education, and location.
